All Terrain Res-Q
All Terrain Res-Q Operations
Initial training was provided upon delivery of our new RES-Q trailer on August 24, 2013. This capability is now operational.
All Terrain Res-Q trailers are designed to recover those who have become injured in difficult terrain inaccessible to an ambulance and are unable to walk out. Rescue Squads and Fire departments sometimes have had to hand carry these individuals out on miles of trails. With the proper use of these trailers, we can not only reduce the number of crew member's injures from hand carrying these individuals out but, very important, get the patient to an awaiting ambulance or helicopter within the Golden Hour. Rescue 7 now uses a Honda Foreman 500, 4X4, for towing the rescue trailer.
Only trained and certified SVRS and ACFR members are authorized to operate Scottsville's ATV and the All Terrain RES-Q trailer. We transport both in our enclosed dual purpose RES-Q/Mass Casualty Incident trailer 711.
Only trained and certified Rescue Squad members are authorized to operate the ATV and the All Terrain RES-Q trailer. We transport both in our enclosed dual purpose RES-Q/Mass Casualty Incident trailer 711. BTW, some members have referred to the All Terrain RES-Q trailer as "Wilderness 7"!
